Over a considerable number of years I have developed a reputation as one of the UK's most distinguished and versatile exponents of the contemporary repertoire. I have performed widely across the world as both solo pianist and as ensemble musician, with some of the foremost ensembles and conductors working in this demanding field. In particular I have developed close working relationships with many internationally-known composers. I have broadcast frequently and have many CDs to my credit. In addition to my work in the of field of contemporary music I am also a very active chamber musician and accompanist, performing the more conventional repertoire widely.
As well as having a demanding professional schedule, until recently I was Professor and Director of Performance in the Music Department at the University of Surrey. I am Director of the British Contemporary Piano Competition.
